Edith Blaschko Porrett

Edith Blaschko Porrett, 65, of Wake Forest formerly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away Thursday morning, August 11, 2022 at Universal Healthcare/North Raleigh. She was born in Munich, Germany and was raised by her late parents Robert Dickon and Erna Blaschko Dickon.
 
Edie was loved dearly by family and friends. She could light up a room with her laugh and was always the life of the party. She had a varied career throughout her life from bartender to property management. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Her home was the center of family gatherings and all were welcomed. She will be missed deeply by those who knew her.
 
A funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pine Forest Memorial Gardens. Following the burial the family will gather for a time to celebrate Edie's life and those details will be shared with those that attend the funeral.
 
Mrs. Porrett is survived by her children, Angela Churchill and partner Don Green of Columbia, TN, Mary Alix Downie of Cary, NC, Christina Houser of Maryville, TN, Amanda Bane & husband Ryan of Wake Forest, NC and Jennifer Hammond and partner Madison Griffin of Archdale, NC; brothers, Robert Dickon & wife Linda of Virginia and Ronald Dickon & wife Daw of Hawaii; sister, Mary Smith & husband Greg of Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Montgomery.
