William Robert "Bob" Mantiply, Jr.

William Robert “Bob” Mantiply, Jr., 85, of Wake Forest, passed away, on August 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on January 29, 1937.

"Bob" enjoyed many years of Golf, Airplanes, Cars and Sailboats. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After getting his mechanical engineering degree from NC State he began working with IBM where he retired after many years of service.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Mantiply is survived by his wife of 16 years, Connie Dianne Mantiply; children, Deborah Sox of Clayton & husband Jimmy, Melissa Smith of Raleigh & husband Edward; Son in law David Collier of Raleigh, step-children, Jacqueline Liles of Wilson, Margaret Guerra of Spring Hope, Joanna Carroll of Raleigh & husband Jeff, Michelle Simpson of Alabama & husband Kevin, Matthew Phillips & Wife Samantha of Zebulon, 14 grandchildren;  9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin Mantiply of Maryland and Stanford Mantiply of California; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded by his daughter, Barbara (GeeGee) Collier and his sister, Cindy Ryan.
